Day 02: Leh – Lamayuru - (enroute Magnetic Hill/Pathar Sahib/Sangam.)After a sumptuous breakfast we drive to visit Phyang Gompa, located 8 kms away from Leh town and continue further to Likir village where Likir gompa( Monastery ) is situated a top a windy cliff top overlooking the beautiful village of Likir. Basgo is certainly the most impressive of Ladakhi citadels despite its ruined state. Then we drive Lamayuru monastery. Enroute visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib ,magical Magnetic Hill, the Sangam ( confluence ) of Zanskar and Indus river. Overnight Hotel .
After an early breakfast ,drive to beautiful NubraValley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft) with the zig zag trail continues and drive till Hundar village. On arrival check in Nature's nest North camp. Afternoon enjoy the beauty of sand dune and double hump camel. Overnight at Nature's Nest North Camp or similar...
Day 04.Hunder /Diskit/ Pangong via ShayokToday , we get up early morning visit to Diskit monastery and have wonderful view of Nubra valley. Drive to Pangong lake via Shayok valley . Enjoy the turquoise color panoramic lake and the magnificent mountains and landscapes which will leave you awestruck . Spent your afternoon enjoy the beauty of Pangong lake and later Check in the camp .Overnight Hotel.
Day 05. Pangong Lake/Sakti Village Today we drive towards Sakti Village which is on the way to Leh.We will have a stop over sakti Village while we visit Takthok Monastery , which is also widely referred to as Thak Thak or Thag Thog by Buddhist people. This is a famous Buddhist monastery that is situated in Ladakh’s Sakti village belonging to the northern India. This monastery is almost at a distance of 46 km from Leh. The monastery has got its name Takthok which in English means ‘rock – roof’. Actually the walls along with the roof of this monastery are built of rocks only and that is why it got its name Takthok. This infamous monastery belongs to Tibetan Buddhism’s Nyingma tradition. A total of 55 lamas are currently residing inside this monastery. This monastery is one & the only monastery in Leh belonging to Nyingma tradition. This makes it highly popular and unique among the other monasteries.It is supposed that this monastery came into its existence in the mid of 16th century. The monastery was crafted under the ruling of ‘Tshewang Namgyal’. It is built around a cave on a mountain side. According to the legend, the great Padmasambhava did his meditation in this cave in the early 8th century. This cave is termed as Duphug (Tu-Phuk) Lhakhang. This cave is a famous pilgrimage for all the Tibetan Buddhists around the world.
The famous Takthok festival takes place here on every 9th as well as 10th of every sixth month according to Tibetan calendar. The major attraction of this festival is the sacred dance which takes place here every year. This monastery belongs to the ancient ‘Nying-ma- pa sect’ of Buddhism. Overnight at Sakti Village.
Day 06 : Drive towards leh and rest for the day.One can walk upto Leh market.
Day 07.flight to Delhi
Early Morning transfer to airport and fly for onward destination. Leave footprints with take sweet memories of Ladakh!
